  1. Moving Day

    September 25, 2010 by myeye

The trucks and the movers should be here shortly because today the dogs and I move to the house in Los Lunas. — YAY!  However, I will be without computer access until some time on Monday when Comcast appears at the new house.  If I must come back into town — perhaps Sunday evening — I will try to stop at the office and check email and the blogs.

I hope you all have a far more relaxing weekend than I’m planning to have.

  2. Oh My, This Dog Can Herd

    September 24, 2010 by myeye

Chase was on ducks tonight and Cheryl videotaped him moving them between panels — as well as some stills.  Chase is awesome — I so wish I was there!

The stills are lovely — look at all that grass — us New Mexicans are always wowed by the green stuff!

  3. It’s Not Exactly the Great Wall of China

    September 23, 2010 by myeye

At the office, looking down the stairs — we are all safe because we have old Inca and the rescued Chihuahua Lola on duty.  Actually this spot is halfway between the upstairs people (with dog cookies) and the downstairs people (with refrigerator).  Our dogs aren’t dummies!

  4. It’s Wide Body Leidy

    September 22, 2010 by myeye

Little Leidy Lou was bred on the 20th and 21st of August — she ovulated on the 16th, so is about 5 weeks along.  Here is how she looks from above.  From the side you cannot tell she’s preggers.  I think we’ll have more than two puppies from which to choose.

Holmes is sure Leidy belongs to him — and that the puppies are his.  Hopefully he will help raise them to be happy mirrors of himself and of his dad.

  5. Chase Shadow Making the Rounds

    September 20, 2010 by myeye

DeAnn is getting very attached to her shadow Chase (yard art).   She’s decided to keep him for a while longer:

I’ve decided to keep Chase’s shadow for a bit and have him travel with me to various venues this fall.  We’re having fun with that. He gets lots of attention especially when people don’t know what the heck breed he is. I love telling them all about CWC’s!

He attended his first ever AKC Hunt Test in Mesa, WA (I know huh, he’s really hitting the “big towns” in Washington State).  Anyway, Scootney Reservoir is very pretty this time of year.

One of his hostesses, Teyla got her first pass (“Q”) toward her Junior Hunt Test title on Sunday. The weather was awful (rain, wind, cold) but much fun was had by all. Chase couldn’t figure out why the retrievers were having such a good time picking up dead ducks but hey, to each his own.

Here he is pictured by the banks of the water just short of the duck blinds shortly after the ribbons were awarded. He got lots of comments and ribbing from the “guys” (the ladies loved him, of course).

He’s now back in the garden enjoying the fall flowers. He is not, however enjoying being rubbed upon by our cats! Neither does Poppy. I’ll try to get a shot of that soon.

His next stop will be in Kennewick at the Richland Kennel Club/Cardigan Specialty then on to Wenatchee for agility. We’ll keep you posted.
