  1. Best Laid Plans – Holmes Needs A Home

    January 24, 2012 by myeye

Holmes is not going to California after all.  Valerie’s mother fell and with the months of rehab, she doesn’t feel comfortable adding the boy to her household.  In anticipation of Holmes being their pet (and being neutered), I have collected and frozen him.  So he could be neutered if his new family felt that worked best for him.  I would still like to see him in an Obedience or Agility home because he loves to work.  What a bummer for everyone!

Ideas?  He must be placed by the end of April.

  2. More Herding and Show Brags

    January 22, 2012 by myeye

Where to start?  How about with youngest to oldest dog.

Little Riley who will be seven months old on January 24th went to the Rosenburg Texas shows this weekend.  It’s her second time out.  She earned her first two points.  WAY TO GO BABY GIRL!  Riley is a Chase/Ditto daughter.  We’re told that Judge Paul Chen made baby talk and Riley turned into a wagging, kissing puppy.  You know that’s what we loved about Riley, Killian (Tater), Rango, and Torch — as well as their less famous siblings.  Congratulations little Riley.  If you look in  the catalog, you will find her as Snapdragon Something Unspoken.

Out in rainy Portland, the Smooch and DeAnn Nelson had three days of double Qs in Rally Novice B and in Beginner Novice B.  Smooch ended the weekend with two titles.  She is a Chase/Leidy puppy and Naughty Nola’s litter sister.  For the time being, Smooch is Elyan The Evening Echo of C-Myste RN BN.  Go, Smoochie and De!

Meanwhile, oblivious to all the cool stuff being done by his kids, Chase was herding with Susan.  Yesterday a big mama with brand new babies slammed Chase to the ground.  She really did not care for his efforts to make her move.  He said, “Alrighty then.” and rounded up some less volatile sheep and lambs.  Here are some photos from Cheryl taken today.  They were herding in the mud, Susan fell length-wise.  She’s none the worse for wear, but definitely resembles a brindled Tennessee gator.

I figured the baby lamb photos would make you all mushy inside.

  3. A Great Start to the Weekend

    January 21, 2012 by myeye

The temperature today should be about 62 degrees.  By itself that is a pretty good beginning to the weekend, but there’s more.  Chase sent a package to a pretty girl in Texas and we should have more puppies around March 22nd.  Whoo Hoo!  I LOVE puppies.  If  you’d like to be considered for a puppy from this litter (end of May), complete the puppy application at the top of the blog.  Kathy McCombs will be in touch with you.

Yesterday Smooch double Q’ed in Rally Novice and Beginner Novice at the Rose City Classic in Portland, OR.  DeAnn has been working hard with Nola’s sister and we are very proud of how far along they are.  Cousin Hiro was Winners Dog both Thursday and yesterday to bring him to 11 points with both majors.  The wonderful thing about Hiro’s wins is that he is owner-handled by Catherine and Hiro is her very first dog!

Then, to make the weekend even more fun, Nola went herding.  I took the Nikon, set it on “sport”, and by the time I had photographed Nola and Ellen’s Banjo, I had 969 photos to sort through.  Ellen’s shots are all on a flash disk.  I’ve edited a few shots of Nola for your viewing pleasure.  She has such a good time with the sheep.  Thank you Auntie Ellen!

Tractor Supply Company just called me.  My $7.99 dog beds have come in.  I’m going to take my rain check into town and pick up the beds.  I hope your weekend started out as well as ours did.

  4. Chase in the Movies

    January 19, 2012 by myeye

Susan surprised me with this video of Chase hard at work.  I love it!  Enjoy.

It’s true — all that love and kissin’ is waitin’ at the end of his ride.  Be sure you have your volume on.

  5. A Herding We Will Go

    January 15, 2012 by myeye

Susan herded with all the Cardis today and Cheryl only took about 300 photos.  The new camera takes 7 frames per second so the count climbs quickly.  We’ll start with Daddy’s little girl.  Lowri loves to herd, but as was the case with Chase before, Gracie the cow gets in the way.  Lowri has no fear.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program

And the Chaseman, having his problems with Big Mama with twins on the ground

Still more photos from today on Lowri’s blog.
