We have lots of interesting plants that grow on the high desert. One is called Apache Plume. During the spring and early summer it sports tiny white flowers, but as fall nears the flowers grow into the pink-tinged feathery fronds shown in this photo.
This second photo is of a cactus pod. The flowers have been long gone. Everyone who sees this photo says, “Ew, that’s really weird.” (To say that, you must wrinkle your nose.) I think it’s really fascinating.

I am past sixty-five and still practicing law. I have two terrific sons, they have lovely wives, and I have one truly special granddaughter. At home are three Cardigan Welsh Corgis that amuse and challenge me. We participate in lots of dog-related activities. I love my camera, writing, and roaming.
