  1. How Many Remember the Savings and Loan Failures?

    I looked at the financial news this evening.  The NYSE fell again, but more frightening were the huge drops in stock markets around the world.  There has been fuzzy dealing in our financial institutions during the past twenty-five or thirty years, the crop of which we are now reaping.  This is a link to a video about the Lincoln Savings and Loan scandal and Charles Keating.  His good buddy during the rape of the S & L was John McCain.  So, what are we thinking?

  2. Weekend Results

    The Chili Bowl Show Cluster has ended (at least for Chase).  Friday, Saturday and Sunday, he was Best of Breed.  This morning he lost to the Open Dog.  So, he’ll be home earlier than expected today — we’ll go to bed at a normal hour.  Kip and Inca will be so disappointed to see Chase.  Once again, they believed he’d gone home to Carolyn and Tom.

    Next weekend there is a two-day show within a half-hour drive of our home, so I entered him.  Then he’s done with conformation for several months.  We’ll be playing tracking, agility and obedience.  Kip is entered in Rally Advanced B at the Bouviers National at our fairgrounds October 16-17.  I hope we can finish that title.  He’ll be ready for Open in the Spring.  As for Inca-Dink, her agility work is going very well and I think she’ll be ready for her first trials this spring as well.

    I’m sure glad those are all the dogs I have!
