We are receiving moisture and wind from hurricane Norbert. The Balloon Fiesta activities scheduled for last night and for today were washed or blown out. Today at the dog show, we had wind gusts of up to 50 mph. The judge kept changing the pattern for working the dogs to avoid the flapping tents. When Chase was in the ring, paper was blowing around and the wind was so noisy that you could not hear the person next to you speak.
The rain had not arrived by 3:00 when I left, but there was a tornado warning for Valencia County (show site) at 5:00 today. Everyone is hopeful that we will have a window of calmer weather tomorrow morning for the last day of Balloon Fiesta. I hate for people to miss out on the glorious mass ascension. It would also be nice if the dogs didn’t have to run into massive gusts.
I’m always surprised that we here in San Diego don’t get more of an effect from the hurricanes that hit Baja. Hope the weather is calm for you today!
