Lovely photo! Is “Valley of Fires” the same as what I knew as “Malpais?”
Love your way of looking at things, I have a similar shot of some grass growing out of solid rock, just not this time.

Cool picture! I take it this is a volcanic area? I have a thing for volcanoes — I dragged my parents out to the middle of the desert last year just so we could climb up Amboy Crater.
