I always check eBay first — when I need something. I got a great deal on some walkie talkies for the Obedience Club Tracking Committee, and found the Nikon D40x for a super price. In addition to looking for what I “need”, I also always look at the Cardigan Welsh Corgi items — you just never know when something will become an item I “need”.
Yesterday I cruised eBay and found this watercolor original:
I said, “Self, this is too cute, and with the dragonflies, it is something our friend Shelley would love.” So I bid on it, and some pesky person outbid me, so I bid again, and the pesky person did the same. Suddenly it dawned on me that the pesky other bidder might be — Oh, no — not Shelley. So I emailed her, and sure enough, she and I were pushing the price up as we both bid on the watercolor that was meant for her. I’ve backed off and if any of the rest of you were trying to get it for Shelley, stop bidding!
That is an ADORABLE watercolor! Too funny.
How funny, I loved this print when I saw it yesterday, too. I think I’m going to bid on the Cardi topiary frame. It’s pretty cute.
OMG! That’s so funny! Luckily you realized it was Shelly bidding with you 😉 heehee
I love this piece, hopefully the artist puts out more Cardi things!
it’s adorable! i know one too many people who are ebay-a-holics, so I steer clear 😉
Penni, What a sweet gesture! Good thing you realized that it was Shelly out bidding you. LOL. That was funny! Hope she wins it. It’s adorable.
Oh my gosh, that’s so funny! It’s lucky you thought to check with her!
The only good thing is that hopefully now the price is high enough that everyone else will be discouraged! 🙂
