Finishing the Job — or else

April 4, 2009

I’m pretty sure I’ve whined before about the state of my carpet.  I had it installed on the stairs and upstairs BEFORE I got the dogs.  It was off-white.  For the last few months I have wavered between cleaning it and just replacing it with bamboo flooring.

I decided for now to have a go at cleaning it.  So, a few days ago my younger son stopped by and helped me move everything out of my bedroom and into the guest room/office/junk room.  So, you can barely walk in the gr/o/jr.  I have a carpet shampooer that weighs about 40 pounds, but does a pretty credible job of cleaning.  So, we shampooed the carpet.  Then I used the Pet Spotbot on pesky stains — and am checking out a few more this morning.  I plan to re-shampoo today and Brock will help me move the big stuff back into the bedroom tomorrow.

The real issue, however, is that I am exhausted!  The guest room has only a twin bed in which I’ve been sleeping.  Chase is not here, but Kip and Inca sure are.  I told them they had to sleep on dog beds on the floor, but as soon as I fall asleep, they are on the bed — someone has to check to make sure I’m still breathing.  So, I’ve not had an entire night’s sleep since Monday night.  A twin bed does not work for a grown human and two cardis. This job MUST be finished today.

The small bed and the dogs are just helping prepare you for advanced age. You are going to love it. Sleeping through the night is a thing of the past………part age, part doggies.

  2. Cleaning exhausts me, nevermind moving all that furniture and having sleepless nights!

    Thinking sympathetic thoughts your way!
