  1. Intermittent Novice Obedience Class

    June 29, 2009 by myeye

When Chase returned from his Canadian holiday (and the CWCCA Nationals before that), I thought he should repeat Beginning Novice Obedience Class. It had been such a long time since we had worked together. Unfortunately, the next Beginning Novice class doesn’t start until the end of July. So, we signed up for Intermediate Novice. I convinced myself that we would work really hard to bring him up to grade level.

These first couple of weeks have been very difficult. He is so interested in the other dogs and people that training is a challenge. Tonight I recognized the real issue. He thought I said “intermittent obedience class” rather than intermediate. So, we had a talk. I think the training will go better from now on.

Chase has not posted a single billable hour today. I may start leaving him at home with Inca.

  3. The Mesa in the Background

    June 29, 2009 by myeye

ronstew asked how he could see the mesa that is the backdrop for our Chase’s mug. Carolyn added the photo as a sidebar widget — just click and you’ll be able to see the photo in its full and glorious color.

  4. It’s New

This is Carolyn’s creation for me — a new blog to reflect my new direction. The background is made up of two things I love: a New Mexico mesa and our handsome Chase-man. I welcome your thoughts for improvement — or you can simply tell us you think it’s grand.  Thank you, thank you, thank you, Carolyn.

  5. The Pedigree

    June 27, 2009 by MyEye

With help from Mandy, Holly and Kathy, we’ve filled in all the blanks on the Chase/Phoebe puppy pedigree.  See below!  Thanks everyone. For Chase and Phoebe, I am working on a “call name” pedigree. I’m still missing a few call names, but this is what it looks like. It’s full of producers!  Click to make it readable.  If you’d like a copy, leave a comment and I’ll send it to you.  Tell me if you want it in Xcel, .pdf, or .jpeg — or all three.  Since I use the “moderation” option, I’ll have your email address so please do not include it in the comment.
