I think we get used to the faint odors left behind by our animals. Recently our dog club sprinkled Sweet PDZ granules in our potty yards to help neutralize odors. The product was designed for horse stalls, but seems to work pretty well in runs and exercise areas. It’s totally green and non-toxic. It’s available at feed/tack stores in 25 [40] pound bags. Nope, I don’t have stock in the company, but their stock is pretty high with me.
We’ve had a lot of rain recently (well, it’s a lot for New Mexico), and I realized that my patio (thanks, Inca) radiates an unpleasant odor. The Sweet PDZ is making a huge difference out there.
Oh, thank you for this! My dogs have for some reason decided that they need to do their business within about a 15 foot radius of my deck. I think it started when Lizzie was too fat to wander the yard, but now they both are still doing it! The result is that my grass around the deck doesn’t smell too swift. Hopefully my feed store carries it…
Funny about Inca — her brother Denzil is the only one of our 3 who has been known to pee on the deck. In inclement weather I think his view is “it’s so cold, why walk that extra 12 feet?” Sigh.
BTW – I love the kennel name! Well chosen!
