Carolyn claims her dogs tell her when any of their number is pregnant. I saw it in Topeka after we bred Lizzie. Suddenly Alice, who had been very friendly with Lizzie, didn’t particularly like her any more. Her attitude changed markedly. Today I received email proclaiming that everyone at C-Myste says Phoebe is pregnant. The lesson is that not only can one get pregnant from toilet seats and in swimming pools, but you must beware of little tubes in FedEx boxes.
When we made a second shipment Monday, Chase went into the FedEx main plant with me. (It was way too hot to leave him in the car.) When the counter person saw what I planned to ship, she allowed as how Chase could come in to the “No Dogs” office because he had a vested interest in the package. I hope Phoebe’s family is correct, and the pretty tri girl will deliver some Chaselets around the 21st of September. (Notwithstanding Carolyn’s copyright language on her blog, I stole this photo of Phoebe.)
We brought Lizzard home from the Specialty. We stopped to spend the night and
Scout was freaked out by Lizzie (who she knew). I think she was having a response similar to what you described.
Mayhaps there will even be black or tri puppies..
I would love it if we got a color other than brindle. I’m not going to count on it though.
I hope you’re planning on posting photos every day! We’ve gotten pretty spoiled, ya know! 😉 My best wishes for a happy healthy litter, Penni!
Jeri has set the bar pretty high — I’m certainly going to try to contribute an awww-a-day.
Yay!! They know for sure. “She smells kinda different.”
Very exciting.
How exciting! If I were Phoebe, though, I would object to the term Chase-lets. After all, who’s really doing the work here…? 🙂
It was a thoughtless and sexist thing to say. We’ll have to come up with a new nickname for this litter. I’m sure Chase doesn’t care. He’s already had his few bright moments making the event possible.
Hey, I said they could be “Storm Chasers” a la weather channel. Chase x Stormy Weather . . .
Oh Goody…little “Chebes!” How exciting! Yes, a black tri or two would be very cool!
Geesh, most any color would work for us up here in Washington. Just have it be a Cardigan and be able to come to our house…in New Mexico!
I’m so excited to see how this litter looks. I love the Phoebe and Carbon kids, so can’t wait to see how she does with Chase! *squee* Only problem, is they’ll be too far for me to visit… *sigh*
Fingers crossed for a beautiful maybe multicolored litter. I love the litters with red, black and brindle.
I love the Pheed. I had two of her babies, which proves it!
Are you whelping and raising the puppies or is Carolyn??? I got kinda lost on that point.
The plan is for Phoebe to come here. We had hoped to ship Phoebe from Portland this weekend when Carolyn was up that way for Le’o’s puppy party, but Phoebe came into season two weeks too soon. So we did the puppies-in-a-box thing. Now I guess we’ll wait to see if she’s really pregnant (at 4 to 5 weeks), and if she is (the rest of the crew says it took), then she’ll fly to Albuquerque. It will be a great excuse for people to come here for a puppy party around Thanksgiving time. We usually have nice weather in November.
We are pretty excited to see this litter, given the parents. We have been pretty spoiled, so figure on lots of pictures otherwise people might start having puppy withdrawl symtoms. 😉
Congrats! Yay! More puppies to covet. Love the “Storm Chasers” theme. I’d take Jim Cantore any day! 😉
