My bank messed up my business check order. I took the incorrect checks in so we could re-order. Chase is often with me when we go through the bank drive-thru, and has been invited (a number of times) to come inside. The employees give out dog bones and First Community Bank ranks as his #1 most favorite business in Albuquerque. Fixing a check order does not fall into the “Drive-Thru Window” category, so we went inside the bank. First we trotted up to the teller windows to make deposits — I know how that sounds, it was money that we deposited — and Chase stood on his hind legs to get the tips of his toes on the counter. Business came to a screeching halt while everyone came out to pet him and give him his cookies. I gave the “broke = no tail = Pembroke” speech. Chase was very happy to be the “other” breed of Corgi. Then we went to visit the customer service lady, Kathleen, so our checks could be re-ordered. Chase sat next to me on the floor for a couple of minutes before he decided he was also a customer. He did one of his silent leaps onto the second customer chair and put one paw on Kathleen’s desk. It was lunch time and lots of customers were milling about the bank. “Oh, isn’t he cute?” “What’s he doing?” I explained he was re-ordering checks. Chase got hugs and rubs — even a kiss from one older woman. He had a grand time.
After we had conducted our business, we said goodbye, were both invited back anytime, and returned to the office. Chase is now reclining upside down against the Barrister bookshelves while I play with the Blog. Have a good day — we are!
