The boys eat and sleep. Phoebe has decided she likes to lie on the plastic rather than the soft cotton pads. After a meal, puppies know how to scoot back on the pads and over the warmer. Of course, they have each other for warmth as well.
Sharing Space for an After Breakfast Nap
AWWWWW! I just want to kiss their little faces. I still can’t get over the similarity of Watson’s markings to old Axie dog’s. It really is uncanny.
Thank you, Phoebe for being such a great mom. You, too, Penni!
Alden is crazy. Just had to throw that out there…
Interestingly enough Watson will be closely related to Fig…Fig’s dad is Watson’s half brother (via Phoebe) and his mom is half sister to Chase…
They are sure going to be bright brindles! And very sturdy 🙂
What might REALLY be uncanny will be to see how Watson’s personality, preferences, and habits compare to Axle’s! When Denali joined us, shortly after our loss of Kenai, it was astonishing how similar she was in many of her behaviors. Although she is certainly her own girl, she exhibited so many personality traits that were similar to Kenai’s bright, happy, busy temperament. In hindsight, I will always believe that Denali keeps a little part of Kenai’s spirit with her – fortunately not as much of the barking part!
These are lovely pups – the brindle is just gorgeous! How exciting that we’ll have another nice cardi boy in our N. California “collection!”
I am crazy, but you knew that along time ago! 😉 Penni told me how closely related Fig and Watson are. I think they’re double cousins. I’m still trying to explain to the kids that Fig’s grandmother is Watson’s mother.
I just can’t get over Watson’s little mismarked face. The shape of the markings, even though they’re brindle, are still pretty close to Axie’s.
Can I come and snuggle? Please?
I wish I could arrange for snugglers — my life is chaos for the moment and the babies can always use cuddling. They are so cute. I want to just stay home with them.
Awwwwwww!!! What beautiful, rich colors!!
I’m sooooo glad you changed his name to Watson…do you have any pet puppy people on your waiting list? That wanted a boy? Perfect.
Watson is going to live with Alden in Northern California. He will be registered with some form of “Elementary My Dear Watson”. Since she’s going to track with him, he needed a detective name.
I just ordered a book on tracking from Amazon. It isn’t breed specific, but has some good, general “How to Get Started” information.
If anyone can recommend other books, sites, etc., I’d be most appreciative. I have checked out the CWCCA site. I need bare bones BASIC info.
Thanks.
Visit http://www.pawmark.com and look at the tracking books. They also carry the Premiere harnesses. For the line, palominelines@q.com. They are plether (biothane), light enough for low to the ground dogs. The woman who makes them is Charla Helbig. She lives in Silver City, NM. I love my plether lines and leads! The Audible Nose is a wonderful book, as is Tracklaying 101 — both are at Pawmark I believe.
Thanks, Penni. I’ll look at those sites. We used to use biothane for (everyday)horse bridles..it was much easier to clean than leather.
My son Ian is intrigued by the idea of tracking. He’d like to try it with Fig. It will be a nice thing for the two of us to learn together.
Please give Watson a hug from me.
Oh my goodness they are just too cute! I can’t wait to watch them grow. I have so enjoyed watching the Music’s babies grow.
That little whitehead, is truly a gift from heaven, strait from a white-headed soulmate. Talk about perfect love…
They’re both adorable, and I can’t wait to watch them grow!
