THIS Really Ticks Me Off

We have a need to ship some more Chaselets (more about that later).  Since the optimal breeding date may be during next weekend, I had a brilliant thought — Why don’t we use Delta Dash?  It offers same day service.  I called Delta Cargo to locate the facility in Albuquerque and check out the requirements.  Here’s what I was told.  Shippers who have not been approved by TSA may not ship anything that weighs over 16 oz.  End of discussion!  So, people like us, who might occasionally want to send a box of anything (not just Chaselets) may not use the Delta Dash service — how bizarre is that?  So, I’m ticked off!

    so…if you can make a bomb that looks like chaselets that is under 16 oz you are in the clear…

    Of COURSE the optimal day is on a weekend

    So apparently Delta operates under different rules than anyone else? Being as we just sent you a a Phoebe without being TSA certified it must be more than just 16 oz., as we both know she weighs more than that! Are you sure this isn’t because you’re on their list after the note you put in the box of dog goodies and New Mexico Chiles you brought with you when you came to pick up Chase? 🙂

      I expect the chile note (in January, 2008) caused this ruckus. The rule applies to more than Delta Dash, however. I was unable to send an empty and broken-down crate to Shelley in Cleveland unless I was a “known shipper” — that was on Continental. Apparently “known shippers” are the opposite of “known terrorists”.

    So…be sure your pipe bomb or anthrax packaging are under the 16 oz. You can create a lot of damage with something under 16 oz. geesh.

    I just looked at the Delta Cargo website and there is nothing about such a restriction on Dash or any other service. Makes me wonder if caller ID tipped them off as to who you are 🙂

    Delta Dash is an oxymoron. Delta doesn’t dash anywhere. Delta stands for: Doesn’t Ever Leave The Airport.
