After we came up with the great name for Watson “Elementary My Dear Watson”, my brain (which is so sloggy right now) was alerting me to the fact that there is another Holmes phrase that I really liked, but I couldn’t dredge it up. Kathy found it and sent it on. So, Abel is now “Holmes”. “The Game Is Afoot” will work whether he is in conformation or agility or tracking or herding. Thank you Kathy!

Sleeping off the meal
It’s becoming more and more difficult to get anything (other than puppy watching) accomplished around here. They are steadier on their feet and more vocal. Last night, I called Alden and told her to watch the puppycam as I was preparing to put down the crystal divided relish tray (only dish in the house that’s not too big). Together she and I watched the puppies walk through their food, push each other out of the way, and then collapse with their tennis ball tummies. Puppies are so much work, but they more than make up for it with the pleasure they bestow on us mere humans.

I am past sixty-five and still practicing law. I have two terrific sons, they have lovely wives, and I have one truly special granddaughter. At home are three Cardigan Welsh Corgis that amuse and challenge me. We participate in lots of dog-related activities. I love my camera, writing, and roaming.
