  1. Gifts from the Outside

    January 7, 2010 by myeye

A never-ending battle in a home with a dog door is limiting what the dogs bring inside.  Until very recently, the dogs took toys outside.  Periodically I make a swing of the yard, pick up all the salvageable toys, bring them in, wash them and lay them out on the dryer.  Once dry, they are again inside toys.  Things are different with Holmes having access to the dog door — he is a carrier.  He has begun rescuing the toys from outside and bringing them back in.  They come in with pieces of leaves and twigs, dirt . . . an occasional small rock.  Perhaps this is the puppy I can teach to put toys back in the toy box?

“Stuff” really shows up on the white tile.

Just a note:  Holmes now understands the concept of the outhouse (as opposed to the in-house).  Thank goodness!
