I just got back to the office. Two dogs were crated upstairs at home. Chase and Holmes came with me to work. We took a lunch break to let the girls run around the yard barking their fool heads off. It was not a “fun” visit to the house. The lower cabinets are trashed. Since the house is 30 years old, I doubt I can match the top cabinets and the west wall cabinets — so I’ll need all new cabinets. The “new” thing that bothers me the most though is that the shared wall of my townhome is moldy on my neighbor’s side as well. My adjuster says it’s covered, but I need to go tell John and Andi that I made their house moldy. I feel so badly!
Ground meat was on sale so I ran to the store and picked up 10#. K-9 Kitchen sells a frozen ground vegetable mix with flax and other good stuff by the pound, so I can just add a pound to 4 or 5 pounds of ground meat and have yummy (fairly reasonably priced) meals for the dogs. When I got home and opened the refrigerator to put the meat in, I found the refrigerator was off — no, make that — the entire socket was off. So I got to climb up a ladder and open the breaker box — sure enough, we had blown a breaker. I don’t know what else is on that breaker because the wiring is really confusing. The refrigerator is back on — for now.
My nice adjuster told me not to cry, that everything would be taken care of. Of course, he’s not the one washing dishes in a tub in the upstairs bath. I suppose while I’m whining, I should mention that Windows7 HATES my internet security program (Kaspersky) and I spent six hours yesterday installing the upgrade from VISTA to Windows7 only to find Kaspersky won’t work.
I guess I will get those new kitchen cabinets after all — that’s probably worth a smile.
