  1. On The Road Again

    February 22, 2010 by myeye

Tom and Carolyn were on their way back to Orygun by 7:30 this morning.  Tom has caught a cold so Carolyn was at the helm of their C-Mystery blue Element.  We had such a nice visit.  We played with dogs, went to Old Town (ask Tom to show you his kaleidoscope which is truly stunningly beautiful), watched/photographed the sunset over the valley, cooked a pork roast steeped in green chile, had green chile cheeseburgers at the Owl Cafe.  Last night Carolyn and I worked at completing information for dogs already listed on The Cardigan Archives.  This morning we made a valiant attempt to finish off most of the “King Cake” sent to me by my Louisiana client.  Their cooler is packed with almost 10 pounds of frozen roasted green chile and dog meals for two nights.  There is a variety of new T-shirts.

Phoebe was packed into the car with Alice and Molly.  Bye Feebs — I’ll miss you, funny girl.  Thank you for giving us Holmes and Watson.  Having only silly Holmes, the Dink, and Chase seems like very few dogs.  I’ll get over that feeling soon.  I wish I’d win the lottery so I had more free time to spend with friends that wander to New Mexico.

  2. Holmes 5 Months Old

    February 21, 2010 by myeye

Carolyn has posted some “family” portraits over on her blog. Tom was the official photographer. Here is one of the gazillion photos he took of the Holmes puppy today. Holmes is just such a cute baby!  That’s Carolyn’s shirt and hand in the photo — I had the cheese which engendered that intense look.

  3. Watson – Nose Down – Track

    February 21, 2010 by myeye

Watson and Alden went to a beginning tracking seminar yesterday.  Alden had an auditing spot, but when someone dropped out, jumped at the chance to take the working spot.  Little Watson has a good nose and is understanding this tracking game.  Alden sent me this video clip of his very first track.  Enjoy.  Good dog, Watson!

  5. Very Close To Finished

    February 19, 2010 by myeye

This morning I used paint thinner to clean up smears of Liquid Nail — those highly paid construction guys don’t have to clean as they go.  Fah!  The new faucet has a pull out spout, but the plumber plugged the dishwasher in through the middle of the faucet coil — so I had only four inches to pull out.  Down on the floor, flashlight under the sink — sure enough.  I unplugged the dishwasher, and plugged it outside the loop of faucet coil.  Duh!

But!  We are down to needing toe kicks, deep drawers inside one cabinet, a half shelf, a couple of spacers, and paint on the upper cabinets in the laundry room.  The doors on the new cabinets are not an exact match to the old, so Tim will take them away next week and run his router down the edges.  I put away two boxes of miscellaneous stuff.  There are four boxes to go, but I need the drawers and a shelf to get the contents where they belong.  The switch for the oven light was broken while my range was stored — the light is now on, and only on.  I’ll get the contractor to fix it next week.  The front yard still needs to be weeded, the umbrella and chairs for the back must be hosed down.  I still have four or so hours before Tom and Carolyn arrive so I can get it done!

Here are some before and during and after photos.  The dogs preferred the part where there were no cabinets or appliances in the way of their fun:
