Revised Ad (Final I Hope) – Amended

July 4, 2010

AMENDED: There was one smiling profile in the 80+ shots I took this morning.ย  Here’s how it looks in the ad.ย  We ARE going to choose between these two because I must do something besides play with Photoshop Elements (like toenails and vacuuming)

Smiling profile - Final 7-4-2010 blogWe went out for another photo shoot this morning. A man was throwing a ball for his dog — back and forth — during the entire time Chase sat on his tree root. This dog has a rock solid “stay”! So, here’s what we got. There were no “smiling” photos because things were pretty serious with that dog running in front of Chase.ย  Thanks for the suggestions — ‘specially Emily and Mandy.

I like this one, alert, front better, no sun in the eyes and not too busy ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. taryn.tipton says:

I like both of these, but emotionally I react to the first one more.

    Happy 4th of July Penni!

  3. I like both these SOOO much better than the previous ones! Yea! Expression I like the 1st one more, but pose, and conformation-looks I like the second better. I really can’t choose a favorite between these two- they’re a tie for me. I’ll think on it though, and I’m sure others will have better opinions than I do!

These photos are better lighting/quality than the previous ones, and he’s posed much better in these ones than the previous ones.

I really like the top one better because he is looking at your ad copy, which kinda makes the reader look at it too…if that makes sense. I also like it because he is smiling ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Kathy M. says:

The first one is definitely my favorite. More complimentary of Chase and the whole thing works much better as a unit.

The second one looks like there was a scenic backdrop and a separate photo of the dog was dropped in. First one looks like he’s actually looking down the road, ready for the adventures ahead.

Whew…big journey for the Chase Man!

  6. Traci says:

I like the first one best too – a happy dog is much more appealing to me ๐Ÿ™‚ Nice ads tho, Penni – I hope he enjoys his adventures… and I hope you can stand the torture of being away from him for that long!

    Penni:

I’ll have to agree with Mandy, I like the one with Chase looking straight out at you gripping the tree with his front legs. He is alert, projects strength, determination and pride -plus itโ€™s a very unique pose, never seen anything like it.

We have seen plenty of head shots of other dogs this one makes you want to see more of Chase.

That’s a long time to be away?

    Eric

I’d change material on rucksack-union flag, confederate flag-go to a red bandana? (probably to late to add my two cents). Donโ€™t like US flag grumbled up and on the ground.

Several people commented on the “flag” rucksack. I want to assure all of you that while the design contains stars and bars, it is not a US flag. In my opinion, the flag has only one purpose and that does not include being a rucksack or a T-shirt or a beach towel.
