Chase was on ducks tonight and Cheryl videotaped him moving them between panels — as well as some stills. Chase is awesome — I so wish I was there!
The stills are lovely — look at all that grass — us New Mexicans are always wowed by the green stuff!
Look at this dog smile!
Chase seems to have so much self-control! He also seems to keep his excitement level in a nice range. I think both my boys would consider ducks a dinner opportunity, esp. Jimmy.
I love the stills! In the first one, Chase is eyeing the duck that is off to the side. He is trying to determine if he needs to do something to keep her with the others. In the last still, he is channeling his inner Border Collie. Look at that head position.
He is so much fun to work with!
It’s great to see Chase doing so well. He really seems to enjoy his work!
He’s really doing well! He looks like he’s having such a good time.
Chase is awesome. I am pretty sure that those ducks would be dinner if Denali had anything to do with it, and Sage would probably run the other way!
Chase is so much FUN to work with! I cannot emphasize that enough! I absolutely love taking photos of this dog–you can see his expression in every step he takes. One of my favorites is where, as Susan said, he’s channeling his inner Border Collie! He’s such an honest dog. He’s happy to go in gangbusters at first and then settles very quickly and gets to work. Even when he’s at his freshest, he doesn’t get too physical with the stock, whether it be ducks or sheep. Less than two weeks to go before his first time at a herding trial!
Wow!!! Chase is reely luky, I wish I kood herd duks becorez they look lyk they wood mayk nys frends to play wiv. Well dun Chase, yoo ar such a kleva boy herding the duks so well
