I mentioned that Leidy has a dog cot in her puppy area and that she lies on it and watches the puppies in the whelping box. Tonight I wanted to change out their pads and Leidy was outside. I picked up the babies and laid them on the cot. Enter Leidy who decided she could have the best of both worlds. She climbed onto the cot, gingerly picking her way between babies, laid down, and they proceeded to have a snack. It’s probably a very comfortable way to care for the kids.
The week of November 15th I will be in trial in Federal Court in Santa Fe — probably just through Wednesday. Because my move to Los Lunas has almost doubled the time for the trip to Santa Fe, I was pretty worried about the puppies getting their supplemental turkey/goat’s milk meals. I’d be feeding them at 5:00 AM so they would need to be fed again at around 2:00 to 3:00. There is no way I will be home before 8:00 PM. So, the person you will be seeing on the puppy cam in the afternoons the first part of next week is “Jean from NM”. She lives not too far from me and offered to come feed the babies (as long as she could cuddle them as well). She gets a gold star and many hugs from me, plus all the puppy breath she can bottle. Thank you, Jean. Now I don’t have to worry about the babies.
Yeah Jean from NM…do you do house calls to Corona? 😉
Leidy looks so content. What a good Mummy. I am familiar with goats milk, but turkey milk???
I guess it depends how you read it…
