Smooch started escaping from the whelping box a couple of days ago. I saw her go over the edge the first day — she used Udi’s back. I saw her go over today — oh, my! She put her back feet on the pig rail and launched herself into the air. There was no clambering at all. She cleared the top of the box and landed on all fours then took off running around inside the x-pen. They are 8 weeks and a couple of days old. Smoochie is going to an agility home — thank goodness! If I happen to be close with the camera already set on video, I will try to record this astonishing puppy. In the meantime, close your eyes and envision it. While your eyes are closed, you might also offer a prayer of thanks that you don’t have this little kangaroo living at your home. DeAnn, PLEASE don’t back out.

Udi Has Selected His Family

Udi will be going to the Tri-Cities area of Washington State. He will live about 20 minutes from Smooch and DeAnn. He will own Sondra, a retired veterinary pathologist and her two daughters, some alpaca, other dogs, chickens — I think I’ll go instead. Lucky baby to have such an extended family waiting for him.
