Perhaps I am placing too great a burden on young Holmes’ shoulders — expecting him to keep track of the Fearsome Foursome. Today the red puppies found they could still slip between the wrought iron fence uprights and race around the balance of the property. They do not come when called. So, we were forced to have inside play time with the main dog door blocked. I think they still had fun.

Christmas Eve

In my family, Christmas Eve was always the time for exchanging presents because Christmas Day was for church. All of us in the Albuquerque area (which expanded considerably when I fled to Los Lunas) got together at my younger son’s home for a potluck dinner and to exchange gifts. The rule is we buy for my granddaughter Adrienne and my niece Michelle, then add “stuff” to stockings for everyone. Adrienne played the piano and sang us a Christmas song, we had a great dinner, then got down to business.
