Christmas Eve

December 25, 2010

In my family, Christmas Eve was always the time for exchanging presents because Christmas Day was for church. All of us in the Albuquerque area (which expanded considerably when I fled to Los Lunas) got together at my younger son’s home for a potluck dinner and to exchange gifts. The rule is we buy for my granddaughter Adrienne and my niece Michelle, then add “stuff” to stockings for everyone. Adrienne played the piano and sang us a Christmas song, we had a great dinner, then got down to business.

Sister in Law Cathy and Daughter in Law Debi (I know — she’s too old to be texting)

Adrienne and Michelle

Michelle’s Very Cool Toe Sock/Slippers (mine include penguins)

Adrienne’s dream gift — a jewelry armoire

The stockings are always fun, and Debi painted a pastel for me — I guess it’s time to get some art up on the walls:)  A fun time was had by all — and we wished a happy holiday to everyone who was still awake at 10:30 last night.

I wish you one as well.
