2 Degrees, Wind, 60% Chance of More Snow

February 2, 2011

I can state with absolute certainty that only the dogs are happy with the present state of the weather.  Today’s high will be in the teens.  It’s supposed to warm up to 26 tomorrow, and then Friday, up to 46 — that sounds like a heat wave.  Our annual TDX test is set for Sunday in an area that sits about 7,000 feet above sea level — think it might be a bit chilly?  Again today EVERYTHING is closed — schools, courthouses, etc.  The local kennel club meeting was canceled last night.

I’m hoping the sun makes an appearance today so I can get in to my office.  I have so much work piled up on my desk . . .

However, as I said, the dogs are very happy.

Re-thinking whole “desert vacation” thing …
25 F and clear here this morning.

Slight correction: weather bug showed 25 for Gold Hill, thermometer shows 22 here at the house. Whatever. Better than 1 or 2 (!)

If this weather was going to last more than a couple of days, I’d be heading for Orygun for the winter vacation — I suppose we are such whiners because it is so rare. I can handle 46 degrees by Friday, however.

The coldest day EVER recorded in New Mexico was recorded on February 1, 1951. We came pretty close last night.

I think you have a heat wave going there. Our thermometer (just 10 miles north of you) shows 12° at high noon. If I can get out of these icy streets, can I come and play with Nola? 🙂

Heard it was 8 below last night at our place near Corona…with 8 inches of snow. A sunny 2 above right now. Sooooo glad we did a passive solar home that, up until now, was pretty much heating itself this winter, with the help of the sun.
