Bye Tom, Bye Carolyn, Bye Dogs

February 17, 2011

Tom and Carolyn headed west a little while ago.  They are going to spend the night in Gallup and then drive to Phoenix to see Traci.  We had a nice visit during which Tom took pity on this single-woman household.  He helped disassemble my whelping box so Traci could borrow it, put up a swinging dog gate in the kitchen — no more jumping over the baby gate — and Carolyn, Tom and I installed poultry wire on the lower part of one section of the back fence.  My next door neighbors think Nola is too cute for words so they talk to her and play with her through the fencing.  There was a section of their fence that had large squares.  Nola and her cousin Audrey decided to hop on through to visit Bernadette and Isaac and Elizabeth.  Fortunately, they returned our puppies.  Today we closed the escape hatch.

We ate green chile chicken casserole, drank some wine, played with the six dogs.  Tom and Carolyn visited two of the three Salinas Missions (Abo and Quarai) and ate at the Shaffer Hotel in Mountainair.  It’s snowing in Medford, so the 70 degree weather here was a pleasant change.

I caught the “super cold” — so no real goodbye hugs, but they know a virtual hug is floating above their car as they travel.

Wow, sounds like a great visit. I bet the little girls had a blast together. So sorry you got the bug but glad your weather is nicer! The sunshine always makes me feel better. Hope it does that same for you!

I’m so sorry you caught that nasty virus running around. My boss has been out all week with it. Yup, can’t have big holes for little girl-type puppies! The evil ones WILL use them to go visiting! So glad you had a very nice visit. Ms. Lowri would have been in on THAT fun! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Hey…so they were right down the road from our house if they went to Quarai. Love that place!
