Going to the National Specialty is always so much fun, but getting ready to go is the pits. This week I am stuck in pre-trial witness interviews every day. Yesterday morning we had a Motions Hearing and I was able to get one more Count in the Murder indictment dismissed. On May 9th that 1st degree murder trial begins. There is so much yet to do at the house so the house sitter is able to find the couch and bed. I must make up one more batch of buddy burgers. Last night the Board of our obedience club heard a formal complaint against a member — I had the misfortune of being a witness. So yesterday I left the house at 5:00 AM and returned home at 10:00 PM. I ordered some linen pants to take to Houston, but the company from which I ordered them sent them by UPS to my post office box — THAT doesn’t work.
This weekend will be non-stop catching up on everything because next week I have an arbitration and must file several motions in the Federal drug case — trial for that one begins on June 6th.
Once I am on the plane early Friday morning (the 8th) all will be out of my control. Whatever is undone will just stay that way until I return. I’m hoping none of my clients decides to hold a crisis during Nationals Week, that none of the judges decide we must have a hearing on some issue or other, that the house sitter has no issues that require veterinary intervention, that I remember to bring underwear and deodorant.
All that said, I AM SO READY TO GO!
