  1. The Further Adventures of Smooch

    April 29, 2011 by myeye

DeAnn reports that our Smoocher earned her STAR Puppy Certificate and medal AND passed her CGC on graduation night.  This weekend, Smoochie is entered in her first conformation show.  The Chase/Leidy kids turned 6 months old on April 20th — so it’s now the big time.  This will also be DeAnn’s conformation debut (with one of her own dogs).  Apparently she had an eye-opening experience with a friend’s Champion (of another breed) a few weeks ago.

  2. Time To Make The Doughnuts

I realized the first of the week that I had just enough containers of dog food to make it to this weekend.  So, on Monday I hit the store and scored a whole turkey.  I guess there are some people that serve turkey for Easter — but not this one turkey.  Yesterday I picked up some beef liver and veggies.  Tonight I dressed Bruno up and we whipped out 18 pounds of dog food.  I let little Nola clean up the food tub.  She is one happy girl.

It’s a Dirty Job, but someone has to do it!

. . . and still in my camera — how could I miss this?  Susan and Chase taking possession of herding ribbons at the CWCCA Herding Trial on April 9th.  (Ribbons belong to Chase and to Kearney)

  3. The Albuquerque Show Cluster

The counts are posted for our shows on May 14 through 17.  We asked for judges that know and like Cardigans — and that’s what we got.  Unfortunately, the entry may send the chairs of the two shows back to giving us the judging dregs.  We have a bare 3-point major in bitches (10) all four days.  The first day, there are only three dogs entered, then 7, then 6 the last two days.  With the increase in the point schedule for our division, in dogs, we are at a single point the first day and two points the last three.  There are 4 dog and 2 bitch specials on Saturday and Sunday, 3 dog and 2 bitch specials on Monday, and 2 dog and 2 bitch specials on Tuesday.  A disappointing entry overall.  Fingers crossed that all the girls get there so it is a major on one side with the cross-over possibility.

Little Nola will make her show debut, and Holmes, recently returned from the fuglies, will be there to entertain.
