I have been stalking the National photog’s web site — checking for the rest of the photos — three or four times a day. Yes, I want to see Chase’s photos, but I am also mentally moving the deadline for the Bulletin. For those of you who don’t know how the Bulletin gets to your mailbox, it’s via my computer. Some people have the software (or think they do) to create their own ads. Those are electronically sent to me and often I can simply plop them onto a page in the master for this issue, but by far the greater number of ads are built right here in “River City”. That cannot occur until people receive their photos and forward them to me with the words they want to say. I can do nothing without the photos. Nothing has been posted on the photographers web site since April 23rd. We are still missing the non-regular and bitch classes and Best of Breed. Folks have been pretty good about reserving pages, but I cannot get started on the ads without the darned photos. Perhaps if the time-eating trial was not still looming, I would not feel so antsy.
I already have two very interesting articles — they are ready to go, and one of the judges has already provided the critique. However the bulk of time devoted to the Bulletin is in creating the advertisements for Club members.
Way back in the day when I showed horses, it was the same. Hurry up and wait for the pix. Then miss the deadline for the same reason. IT seems strange that some photos were available shortly after Nationals and others not. Hopefully, they have not fallen into the photo vat of doom. Best of luck with the photos and upcoming trial.
Ugh. Waiting is the worst! I love the developing the ads in a newsletter or bulletin but NOT when I’m under a deadline. Really crushes the creative juices. Good luck!
Boy…there sure is a job out there for a good photographer who is prompt to the ring and prompt in delivering the goods! Thanks for the work you do!
The photog was set up on the second floor in a separate room. So everyone had to wait for the judges to finish and then all traipsed up to the room each day. I had to wait until the end of the final day because the young woman that showed Chase in the Megan is a college student. She had to fly back to school for an exam (no excuse accepted other than a provable death in the family). So, we took our photos at the very end of the very end. What is posted on the photogs web site hasn’t been updated since April 23rd and is only slightly over half of the photos taken. She may have done another show last weekend, or — who knows — but the Bulletin deadline may be changed so folks have their photos and time to get them to me.
