Sunday’s Started Sheep Run

April 11, 2011

Here is the video from Sunday’s insurance leg at the CWCCA National Specialty All Breed Herding Trial.  Susan Shields did the steering.  Chase’s runs have been better each time and this was a lovely one.  It earned him 5th place (16 dogs in Started Sheep) and a Cardigan switch plate cover.

On today’s agenda: Carolyn and Mandy want to go see the Gulf, so they will go with Tavia. Chase, Lowri and I are going to the Obedience, Rally, Agility trials at the Crosby Fairgrounds. We will be able to check into the Sheraton later this afternoon — then tomorrow the shopping will begin in earnest. Tonight is the Performance Dinner with a wonderful auction. There is a blue tracking line on which I will be bidding and probably more stuff about which I don’t yet know.

Chase and Lowri were so good last night. Chase was crashed after his adventures yesterday and Lowri, who hung out at the Instinct Test to watch her Uncle Pilot demonstrate his interest in sheep, was pretty weary herself. This morning she is following her daddy around mimicking him. She’s a very cute baby so with the herding out of the way, we’ll be taking video of the little cutie.

Very nice run! Did you see Chase already move to cut off the sheep from retreating at the Z chute BEFORE being told to do so by Susan? Wonderful run!

So glad you are getting to spend time with the “kids”. Sounds like a wonderful trip so far… good luck the rest of the week.

Sigh…wish we were there for the Rally competition. Would love to know who ends up in the Ribbons in Advanced and Excellent! Have a great time!

Oops…just looked at the program…now I am even more disappointed that we’re not there for Rally competition. With the low number of entries, anyone who doesn’t NQ is guaranteed a ribbon! Sigh!

Lovely runs! TM said Lowri is getting into trouble! What’s she up to?

5th place. Congratuations Chase. What a great little herder he’s become. I still love seeing him herd the ducks
