Holmes Is Getting There

May 20, 2011

Holmes was Winners Dog and Best of Winners today in Cortez (Durango Kennel Club).  The major held so he earned his second major.  He now needs just three single points to finish.  It was mud city at the show grounds.  Wendy wheeled Holmes and Nola out in a crate to bathe them, and then wheeled them back inside for drying and grooming.

Last night Wendy and her friend Amy had Nola and Holmes loose in the fifth wheel.  Wendy is amazed that Nola hasn’t broken any body parts yet.  She leaped from the couch to the ottoman, tried to jump on a bar stool, knocked it over.  The red girl is a demon.  The judge was Robert Stein and Nola cleaned his face from chin to forehead with her tail wagging at full throttle.  She is a really happy puppy.  . . . and I am a really happy camper!

Bob mostly likes good Cardigans, too. Finished Hannah and gave Pilot his first group placement. I’m pleased 🙂

Holmes will be Phoebe’s 4th champion. Wally has a group placement, so I think that we just need a couple of extra points. Like an HT on Holmes, and . . .

Shoot. It’s four progeny and seven points. I’ll ask Holmes if he’s up for something in addition to his HT.

  2. Taryn says:

Wow! Holmes made getting his majors look easy, and I know it isn’t! Congratulations!

  3. Hooray! Congrats!

  4. Julie says:

Way to go, Holmes!! That’s fabulous.

  5. Jean from NM says:

Yea Homes! Was there ever any doubt? 🙂

    • myeye says:

Hmmm. Well, there might have been a speck of doubt whilst he was suffering the fuglies — looking like a straw with legs. That lasted for about eight months. I’m very glad he finally bodied out and began looking like a Cardigan again.

    Hey Holmes nice win!
