Though my home is hundreds of miles from the wildfires burning in Arizona, it smells as if we are at camp. The smoke has crept through central New Mexico, crawling along the river valley. These photos were taken from my patio — the same spot where I’ve snapped so many “sunset over the mountains” photos. You’ll notice the mountains are not visible. It has to be far worse for the folks near the fires.
And we can smell the smoke, too. It’s got to be difficult for people living close to the fire, and how sad that we’re losing so many trees.
The amount of land that is currently burning here in Arizona is staggering… I had a feeling when I saw your title that you were getting the smoke from that nasty wildfire near Alpine, AZ… 🙁 Stay safe and don’t spend too much time breathing that smoky air if you can help it!!
Way to wet for anything to burn here for awhile. But the amount of growth we have due to the cool wet spring is staggering. Watch out, come August.
You have my sympathy for the smoke. I know how that is.
