A Herding Sunday

August 7, 2011

Before I begin this post (since Blogger is not sorting the blogroll) new Ditto/Chase puppy photos are posted at Snapdragon.  Six week old babies ready to cuddle!

It rained this morning at Ron’s place (where Susan has the sheep) so there was no herding until later in the afternoon by which time it was pretty warm.  Lowri is becoming very proficient.

Lowri won’t let them move

Chase also has the sheep in a corner

What’s this in the Tennessee swamp?  It’s lying in wait.

Another view of the swamp creature

It’s Emerging

Wow!  It’s the rare Tennessee Brindle Alligator

I’ll take one of those Tennessee Brindle Alligators! 🙂

You have to watch out for the brindle alligator. They can move really fast and have actually been seen to chase down sheep! They really like the water and will roll around it it. The muddier, the better. We have two of them that hang around our place. We generally see them out on land, but they are almost always muddy.

They’re VERY rare! Sightings are almost nonexistent–it took a LOT of filming to get this shot ! Oooh, maybe I should go on the Sasquach hunters program!
