  1. Lowri Does Lexington

    September 3, 2011 by myeye

Little Lowri (the Chase/Scout daughter) is at the CWCCA Supported Show in Lexington and has had a very good morning.  She was Best in Sweeps (Brother Tommy was Best Opposite), then she was Winners Bitch (another 5 point major from the 6-9 puppy class), and Best Puppy (Tommy was Best Opposite Puppy).  Though it is brutally hot, Cheryl plans to stay for the Puppy Groups which start at 2:00.  Herding is the first or second group.  The Best in Sweeps judge was Brenda Medlock and the Breed Judge was Roger Hartinger.  So, at 8-1/2 months old, Lowri has 11 points, including her Western Reserve Best of Winners and this Specialty win.  Congratulations to Janet Suber who bred this pretty baby.  In Sweeps, Ginger was second in 6-9 and Sally was 4th.  Tommy won the 6-9 boy puppy class in Sweeps.  Lowri ( and poor Cheryl) finished up the 103 degree day with a Puppy Group II.  Great job, but Lexington needs to make some changes, they had a judge go down and require medical attention.

I am so proud of our little girl, of Susan who keeps her in superb condition, and of Cheryl who brings out the sparkle in the ring.

Chase is at a herding trial — also in Kentucky — and also brutally hot.  He’s been working so well the past week or so, but the ducks were too hot and simply would not lift off the fence.  Chase didn’t qualify today.  Tomorrow he has an early run (and the judges and exhibitors have agreed to start earlier) so we are hopeful he will get one leg.  He doesn’t trial again until mid-October on Sheep (which he loves best) and then again on ducks.  With a little cooler weather, he should have some better days.  Kearney was HIT — again!
