I just signed off on the proofs for the Fall Bulletin — it’s going to press today. In celebration thereof, I took Inca and Nola to Doggy Daycare where Inca will be bathed and groomed and Nola will have her nails Dremeled. Yes, I can do all of the above, BUT — remember — I am being good to myself today. Inca is shedding and she doesn’t just leave a little hair here and there. SHE SHEDS big chunks of hair and she looks moth-eaten. A good bath and a professional grooming will do wonders for her, for me, and for my generally lax housekeeping. Nola doesn’t like to have her nails done so this way I don’t have to arm wrestle her. I take them to the boarding kennel/grooming salon that is owned by my tracking friend that has top winning American Cocker Spaniels. I know she takes good care of the dogs.
This morning was the first time she’s met Nola. Her comment has been the same for each Chase child I’ve brought in — “Look at the bone, look at the top line. You’re going to finish her/him fast aren’t you.” I doubt I will ever move her away from her Cockers, but she is becoming a serious fan of my dogs-with-no-legs.
I’m wondering, if I work really hard for a few hours, can I fit in a hair cut and a pedicure because this is Be Good To Myself Day?
