This Is Be Good To Myself Day

September 28, 2011

I just signed off on the proofs for the Fall Bulletin — it’s going to press today.  In celebration thereof, I took Inca and Nola to Doggy Daycare where Inca will be bathed and groomed and Nola will have her nails Dremeled.  Yes, I can do all of the above, BUT — remember — I am being good to myself today.  Inca is shedding and she doesn’t just leave a little hair here and there.  SHE SHEDS big chunks of hair and she looks moth-eaten.  A good bath and a professional grooming will do wonders for her, for me, and for my generally lax housekeeping.  Nola doesn’t like to have her nails done so this way I don’t have to arm wrestle her.  I take them to the boarding kennel/grooming salon that is owned by my tracking friend that has top winning American Cocker Spaniels.  I know she takes good care of the dogs.

This morning was the first time she’s met Nola.  Her comment has been the same for each Chase child I’ve brought in — “Look at the bone, look at the top line.  You’re going to finish her/him fast aren’t you.”  I doubt I will ever move her away from her Cockers, but she is becoming a serious fan of my dogs-with-no-legs.

I’m wondering, if I work really hard for a few hours, can I fit in a hair cut and a pedicure because this is Be Good To Myself Day?

What about little mister? No spa day for him? Lol 🙂

I did little Tater’s toenails while his brother was here — they both got the treatment. I don’t think Tater would appreciate the doggy daycare yet. Soon I will do something fun with him. I wish the right show home would come along — he is such a nice boy.

I am sure the right home will come along soon. Riley will be starting a puppy kindergarten next week and I will be taking her to a handling class too. Should be fun! 🙂

This is “Be Good To Yourself Day”. Give yourself a break and don’t work hard for a few hours, remember you just finished the Bulletin. Treat yourself to the haircut and pedi. After all, the Inca and Nola are getting the full treatment. Why don’t you throw in a massage and really pamper yourself? Penni you’ve earned it. Have a relaxing day, just once!!

Unfortunately, my paying clients need some attention, and I should make some money to pay the roofing guy sitting on top of my house. It is such a relief to have the magazine out of my hands though.

I hope “be good to myself” day was a complete success! What did you do for yourself?

  4. You’ve had a very busy bunch of months! You certainly deserve a bunch of pampering!
