  1. Tater Helps in the Kitchen

    October 5, 2011 by myeye

We ground up 25 pounds of dog food tonight.  When I say we, I mean me and the crumb patrol.  I had three red faces and six big brown eyes watching my every move.  Tater has figured out that the bowls, spoons and grinder parts end up in the dishwasher — he was so ready.  The most practical place is on the dishwasher door.

What great ears this baby has.

  2. Rain and Excavation

    October 5, 2011 by myeye

It’s Balloon Fiesta week in New Mexico ergo it is raining.  We had four beautiful mass ascensions the first four mornings.  I assure you there will not be one today.  It has been pouring since noon yesterday.  Rain is so rare here, that none of us say really hateful things about it, but it’s always sad to see part of Balloon Fiesta washed out.  People come from all over the world to photograph the wonderful balloons against our blue, blue skies.  This is what the skies look like this morning.

Then there is the patio area of the yard.  The dogs have access to this area all the time.  So, my kitchen floor is solid muddy dog prints.  I am certainly glad I decided not to mop until the roofer was finished.  He is, but the floors will have to wait until this weekend.

Speaking of floors — before I moved in, I had new floors laid in the living room, dining room, all bedrooms and the guest bath.  I knew I would want to redo the kitchen so decided not to put down new floors.  The kitchen, family room and laundry room make up the dogs’ domain.  Yesterday I left little Tater with Nola and Inca in the dog domain.  It turns out little Tater has a penchant for excavation.  So, I’m just going to let him take up the old floor — it is at least three layers deep.  He does a very good job.  The little s**t!  Just pretend you are visiting the old family farm when you come to visit.
