Today was the Chaseman’s first Advanced run at a trial. He had an exciting morning — bred a pretty Champion that had come to visit him. Then he and Susan headed into the arena. For the past couple of weeks Chase has been doing lovely, wide, sweeping blind outruns. He decided today would be a good opportunity to try something else — like run straight to the sheep, then try a cross over just before he reached them. That took Susan off the handlers’ post to correct him. Some things you just can’t let the dog get away with! Even though he completed the balance of the course pretty well, leaving the handlers’ post in Advanced equals NQ. Back to the drawing board.
Kearney moved up to Intermediate B Course Ducks and was 3rd in that class. He was 5th in Advanced Sheep. Advanced A Course Ducks are at the end of the day.
No Tommy news yet. Update: Tommy was Winners Dog for a 3-point major. He now needs just two points to finish. He is entered again the weekend of November 12-13. Betty showed him herself and did a grand job with the puppy.
Our dogs sure keep us humble! But I’d say Chase enjoyed his day!
Well, I think Chase still had romance on his mind! Gosh, what’s a fella to do? Love, work, love work. He’ll get it right next time. Who’s the mama?
