Last night Chase and I went to agility class. My right knee is still purple and sore, but I worked around the lack of speed pretty well. Chase was on — and so happy to be there. Our instructor used him as the demo dog and though she has never worked with him before, he did everything she wanted him to do. What a good boy. He chained 10 obstacles last night: dogwalk, tunnel, jump, jump, table, tunnel, A-Frame, jump, 180 degrees to jump, and a final jump. I was proud of his effort (and the fact that he did it while I was hobbling along). So, we are upping the ante. I mailed entries for Saturday and Sunday of our local agility trial — September 22 and 23, and for our Novice/Open only trial on October 20 and 21. I’m dragging out the weave poles and setting up some jumps at home. Chase and I now have a time frame and a goal. This effort certainly should lead to heavy rain so that the yard is just mud.
Crazy dog woman!
Is there anything that Chase can’t do? Linking all those skills! I’m even more impressed than ever. Take care of the gimpy knee, so you can beat the socks off the other competitors at the trials. Best of Luck!!!!
Wow! Signing up for a trial already! That’s really quick! I trained both boys for nearly a year before I had the nerve!
Hope your knee feels better soon!
I’ll set up some jumps too, although I don’t have weave poles. Maybe it’ll bring rain!!! Way to go, Chase. What a GOOD boy he is.
Well, that’s one way to get it to rain! 🙂
