Weight Watchers — NOT!

April 6, 2013

Here’s a pupdate on the baybeez.  I weigh them each morning right after I get up (even before I have coffee).  They will be two weeks old on Monday.  I’m hoping their eyes open this weekend.  They’ve become very relaxed while I cart them around, snuggling up against my cheek.  A couple of them even lick my chin.  Once their eyes open, I will start them on ground raw turkey, goat milk, and a tablespoon of olive oil twice a day — which will increase as Dory feeds them less often.  Dory certainly maintains these little chubbies well and keeps them clean to boot.  She’s reached the point, however, at which she likes to come out of the whelping room a couple of times a day to romp with another adult dog.   (I remember that feeling.)

Wow! They are the healthiest and most content babies I have ever seen! Just wait when they can see where they are going – there will be no stopping them!!!

Being a caffeine addict, when I first read that you delay morning coffee to weigh the pups, I thought, “No way.” But then I got to the snuggling and kissing, so I’m with you. First things first!

The boys are getting bigger than the girls, except that one. Go puppies, grow, grow, grow. Hope the eyes open soon. I am still planning on coming to see them in another week and a half or so.

I peeked in on the babies this morning and they are huge! I can’t wait for their eyes to open!

Ha ha, we moms have all been there, Dory! (Sneaking out of the whelping room…or out of the nursery, anyway!)

    Such big healthy babies. <3
