  1. Puppies — We’ve Got Puppies

    July 29, 2013 by myeye

The baybeez had a great time playing with Copper.  We did get a few presentable photos, but mostly they ran in the grass, hauled toys around, and held puppy wars.

  2. Copper at 4 Months

    July 29, 2013 by myeye

The puppies and I visited Kevin and Tricia today.  Kevin hauled out his magic camera and we took photos.  I will do a separate post for the babies.  So, here is Copper!

I am so very smitten by this little red girl — love her to pieces — even though she is as naughty as her older half sister Nola.

  3. Puppy Faces (And Chase)

    July 27, 2013 by myeye

I had a few moments this afternoon with three awake puppies.  Grampa Chase had a romp with them so they were holding more still than usual.  They turned 7 weeks old yesterday and we’ll take some more official photos on Monday morning.  This morning Lisa Berry temperament tested the babies.  As a group they were people-oriented, pretty unflappable, liked being handled.  We microchipped them which did not bother them in the least.  So — on to some pictures (taken with the real camera).

  4. Copper Is Four Months Old

    July 27, 2013 by myeye

Copper (and the rest of the College Kids) turned four months old on July 25th.  They are such an outgoing, active group of puppies.  Last night Copper (via Kevin) send me this short video with a note: “Gramma, I need a new swimming pool.”  If I can get out to the main road, I will go to Walmart to find my red grandchild a baby pool.  Note the ears seem to be up.  We’ve struggled with the little red girl’s big ears.

Shortly after receipt of this video, torrential rains hit in the north valley of Albuquerque, and Copper’s front yard became a swimming pool.

  5. Tracking Boots

    July 24, 2013 by myeye

Some of you have seen our tracking test area.  It’s around 600 acres in the Big Foot section of the Cibola National Forest.  I am so hoping that that area has enjoyed the quantity of rainfall we’ve had here.  It’s time to go back to tracking with Chase.  I’m planning (hoping) to get him certified to enter our January TD Test.  My tracking adventures came to a halt when my wonderful Ecco hiking boots died.  The injected rubber soles simply began to peel away.  I sent the boots in to a factory authorized repair shop in San Diego for inspection.  They declared the problem to be a manufacturer’s defect (though I’d been using the boots for more than 10 years).  I was given a 50%-off voucher for a new paid of boots.

My leather boots are no longer manufactured.  I’ve been checking the website since January and now FINALLY, there is a pair of boots that I think will work.  I ordered them yesterday.  Once they arrive, we will have no excuse.

    Chase, find it!
