On the occasion of their 6-week birthday, the Baybeez and I headed into Albuquerque to visit Kevin Dooley at Kevin’s Photography Studio. The result is more than 300 images — sharing a few here with you. The puppies were wonderful: bold and inquisitive, happy to meet new people. Kevin and Tricia’s red/white Cardi Copper was at the studio and the puppies were quite sure that a red/white Cardi must be Daisy-mom. They tried for a snack or two with no results.

We are into the really, really cute age. I could happily sit and play with these puppies all day long. On Sunday, Julie Murphy, Pam Day, Kathy Sanchez and Kathy’s mom Olive came out to the house for our weekly photo shoot. I used the stacking box which the puppies found very annoying. Pam Day took all of these photos. The puppies will be more comfortable this week. Chase and Daisy gave their kids nice, fat faces and pretty color.
He is simply the cutest, pudgiest guy. He’s the best cuddler of the group — well, maybe . . .
This is the first puppy to the side of the box when I come into the puppy room. He loves to carry the stuffed toys.
Sabin has really interesting markings. He is also the wildman of the group — over, under and through the puppy pen obstacles (and his brothers and sisters).
She is all girl — happy, happy, happy!
What can I say — she is adorable. This is a pocket Cardi. She is happiest if you will cuddle with her. She continues to grow the dark splash beside her eye and is now developing black eye liner.

Last summer, Kip the Cardigan disappeared from the yard of his owners’ home in Pecos NM. Because the property is gated — no road nearby, and because Kip has suffered IVDD and was not as fast as a Cardigan can be, we surmised he had been snatched by a lynx (seen prowling the area). His heartbroken people walked miles looking and calling, but never found him.
Today the Santa Fe Animal Control people called his owners because they had Kip, had scanned his microchip, and determined his owners’ phone number. The owners are driving to Santa Fe tomorrow to claim him. I don’t know any details — his condition — I don’t know. What I do know is WE MUST ALL MICROCHIP OUR PUPPIES. Kip is coming home because he was microchipped. Six months — and Kip is coming home!

The Daisy/Chase baybeez are five weeks old today. They are a rambunctious group. That is my excuse for having only one clear photo and one “slightly” blurry photo to share with you this morning. All the other shots are blurs. So, here are the adorable Quinn and happy Sabin. Daisy continues to be a great mother. She has begun playing with the little devils.

So — it seems to take at least four people to take puppy photos. This was the first time the puppies have been stacked for any length of time. They do like deli chicken slices. Many thanks to Kathy and Jean Sanchez and Pam Day for serving as the photo team yesterday.
Quinn – The Mighty Quinn. He is a very good eater.
Rory – easy going, happy boy
Sabin – Flashy but sweet
Terra – outgoing girl puppy
Ultra – a little girl with a predominantly white head. She is agile and so sweet.
For the very first time, the baybeez were very cooperative. I will try again next weekend when they are 5-1/2 weeks old.
