  1. The Keeper

    March 25, 2015 by myeye

I decided the puppy that should stay was “Terra” who is now “Lacey” (“Elyan White Lace and Promises”) — by now you have probably picked up the theme of the Carpenter’s Wedding Song.  Lacey will live with co-owner Pam Day and her Cardis Bea and Jet.  Lacey is a little sprite.  She wants to please and loves learning so she and Pam are having a great time.  Last Saturday Lacey and Pam attended Lacey’s first handling class.  She was a very good baby!

Little Ultra (“Elyan A Kiss For Luck”) leaves tomorrow for her new home in Michigan.  She turned 14 weeks old today and I fear I kept her too long — I hate to see her go.  I know she will have a wonderful life with Jon and Kristen Smith — they will spend far more time with her than I am able, but darn!  She has the cutest face and the happiest wag.  Bye, sweetie.  I am glad Lacey is nearby so I can visit with her and Pam.

  3. Then There Were Two (Photo Added)

This weekend the baybeez were 10-1/2 weeks old.  We had a terrible (9.5″) snowstorm Friday going into Saturday.  I thought we were all organized to do puppy-pick-ups on Sunday because of the weather, but Rory’s people could not wait.  The drove up from Southern New Mexico notwithstanding the wretched weather.  The only bad thing about their early arrival is that we had scheduled the last puppy photo shoot for Sunday morning before people appeared.  So, no Rory (“Oliver”) photos in this batch.  Rory will be “Elyan Talking It Over”

Thank you, thank you to Pam Day and Arlene Bartels who helped with the photo shoot.  Arlene sacrificed her fingers to the cause.  Sabin is officially Sherlock (“Elyan Signs Along The Way”), and has moved to Mesilla Park.  What a sweet puppy he is.  He gets to go to work with his people.  Lacey has gone home with Pam.  We will co-own her.  She is inheriting a Cardigan brother and sister.  Her handling class will begin in a couple of weeks.  Pam is retired (though very busy) and Lacey was born to be someone’s sidekick.  Lacey is “Elyan White Lace and Promises.”

As soon as the east coast weather mellows a bit, The Mighty Quinn will catch a plane.  I am really going to miss that fat little face.  He will be “Elyan Before The Rising Sun.”  I can’s wait to see his glorious redness reflecting the sunshine.

Ultra (“Elyan A Kiss For Luck”) will be selecting a home before too long.  She needs to be in a performance home — athletic, energetic, agile, tuned in — she will make someone a wonderful partner for herding or agility or obedience or tracking — or all of those events.
