  1. DEAR CAROLYN, THANK YOU!

    August 10, 2012 by myeye

Blogger blew up on me.  My Blog is on WordPress (thank goodness), but my Blogroll is on Blogger.  I tried to add a friend’s blog (LawyerChuck), and my entire blogroll disappeared.  You all may not know that I am a computer-Luddite.  My Blog and Chase’s website were built and are maintained by Carolyn Cannon.  She has no help at her job right now and is pretty overwhelmed.  I felt very guilty telling her that my Blogroll had disappeared and I could not keep track of my friends.  Somehow she found/made the time to figure out what I had done (I know I did something) to cause Blogger to freak out.

My Blogroll is back this afternoon — Oh, thank you, Carolyn.  To my Blogroll:  I don’t know where you’ve been, but I hope you had a great time.

  2. Have You Met Stout?

    January 27, 2012 by myeye

Chase had a rendezvous with Vivian Moran’s Ziva.  Unfortunately, it was a day or so late in her season and the result was one dark brindle boy puppy.  He has gone to live with Merinda Tiffany.  He’s going to do it all — Merinda is a wonderful Cardi trainer in Agility and Obedience and Herding.  Vivian will show the little guy in conformation.  Merinda and her husband John mircobrew at home so the puppy is named “Stout”.  Merinda has started a blog for Stout and his older Cardi brother Porter.  I hope you’ll stop in to visit it.

  3. Conformation Drill, Holmes, and the Weather

    January 15, 2012 by myeye

How much “stuff” can fit in one post.  We’re going to find out.

Our training club offers conformation drill on Saturday nights at 6:30 pm.  That means that only the dyed-in-the-wool dog people are there.  Normal people are out to dinner, at a movie, watching television.  We are at drill class.  The instructor has Vizsla, but has shown for a long time and is so helpful.  Nola is my subject at the moment.  She is going to shows in Hobbs, NM February 4-5, hasn’t been to shows since the local cluster in mid-October.  It seemed wise to take her out for a spin.  You have never seen a dog have more fun doing what she was supposed to be doing — how cool is that?  Down and back — whoo hoo!  Go around — whoo hoo!  Get examined on the table — way cool!  Oh my, I love this youngster.  I think she’s very nicely put together, but her attitude does it for me.  She will be successful no matter what venue.  You have to adore Naughty Nola — that’s a message from her.

Holmes is not going to leave for Lake Arrowhead until January 28th.  Valerie has some medical things going on so we are waiting until she clears the deck.  Holmes requires both hands and some attention.  He’s a sweet boy, but he is also very excited about being alive.  We have stored some pupsicles and one day I will have Holmes’ children here, but he will be living in the land of tofu and Perrier with his new best friend Kodi.

The weather — it only counts because it is in the mid-fifties.  Sweatshirt and no jacket.  That means I must scoop the dog yards — sigh!  I hope you have something better to do.  Oh, I just thought of another stall tactic.  We now have a Tractor Supply Company.  Its Grand Opening is this weekend.  In addition to carrying PINK Carharts, they have dog beds for $7.99 each.  When your dogs disembowel dog beds, you definitely look for sales.  The scooping can wait.

    Herding photos coming later . . .

  4. CardiClaus – The Big Haul from Julie

    December 9, 2011 by myeye

The box arrived today.  It was too large even for the package lockers at the post office.  Thank goodness Brock was at work.  I slipped him the pick-up slip and he brought out the prize.  Inca is in none of the photos because as soon as I set the box on the floor, Holmes yelled, “MINE.”  Inca cleared out.  Nola, who is not too worried about her brother, stood nearby to jump in when she had the chance.  Here is the sequence.

In his next life Holmes can be a bomb-sniffing dog

Toys and Dry Roasted Hot Dogs and a Candle and Cranberry Ginger Dressing

    A good look at everything

“I can get two at once,” says Holmes

    “Ummm, yep, hot dogs!”

    Nola checks it all out

    Nola picks hot dogs

Inca says she also picks hot dogs.  She sat up on her haunches for them, but I can’t give her hot dog pieces and take photos.  We all say, “Thank you, Julie, for the Yankee candle and the dressing (I love cranberry and cannot wait to try this), for the ornaments which made an earlier arrival, for the toys, BUT MOSTLY FOR THE DRY ROASTED HOT DOGS.  Three out of three baddogs vote them The Treat of the Year.  Thank you CardiClaus — a great exchange this year.

  5. Cardi Claus and the Mortgage Payment

    November 29, 2011 by myeye

The mortgage payment is due the first of the month – blech!  However this month, the Cardi Claus package is also due to be mailed by the first of the month.  I need to check email from Cardi Claus to see where this box is headed.  I’m sure it’s going to a Cardigan household . . . hmmm.  Who could it be?
