  1. The Seventh Gotcha Day

    January 6, 2015 by myeye

Today is January 6th.  Today is the day — seven years ago — that I flew from Medford, Oregon to New Mexico with THE PUPPY.  January 6th is the day that Chase became a part of my family.  What a fun seven years we have had.  I cannot thank Carolyn and Tom Cannon enough for letting me buy Chase from them.  He has been a dream-come-true dog — there is nothing I have asked of him that he has not done.  He is a High in Trial Herding dog with both his American Grand Championship and his Canadian Championship.  He has earned his Companion Dog and Rally Novice titles, his Herding Started title on sheep and ducks, his Herding Intermediate title on sheep, his Herding Advanced title on sheep.  He is well on his way to his Herding Championship.  He runs Agility like a wild man and has earned his Preferred Novice Standard and Jumpers, Preferred Open Standard and Jumpers titles.  He lacks one Q for his Preferred Excellent Jumpers title.  His children have been beautiful and talented enough to earn Chase his Register of Merit Silver award.  With two more progeny, he will have earned Gold.  He has earned his Versatile Cardigan Excellent award.  He has multiple Group placements and was chosen as Best Brindle at the Houston National Specialty.  He is a splendid house and office dog, my constant companion.  He raises his puppies — teaching them to use the dog door, to play tug, to come when he calls them (which does not transfer over to when I call them).  Chase is so sound and genetically healthy . . . what a gift he is.

    Mostly, he is CUTE!

Tonight I will hug him — as I do every night — and tell him how special he is to me.

  3. This Is Humbling

    October 25, 2012 by myeye

In today’s mail:  A certificate and pin from AKC announcing that I have been designated a Breeder of Merit.  It is only right to acknowledge that this would never have come my way if Carolyn Cannon had not entrusted me with the Chaseman, and then co-leased Phoebe with me for a litter, and then co-leased/co-bred Leidy’s litter with me.  Just delivering pretty, healthy puppies is not the whole story — next there are the people who took over the care and custody of the puppies from these two litters.  In addition to loving the stuffings out of them, they tested, trained, and showed.  I think the award belongs to Carolyn, and Alden, and DeAnn, and Anne.  Thank you to each of my friends that has done so much with the puppy you took home.  Big wide smile though:>D

  4. DEAR CAROLYN, THANK YOU!

    August 10, 2012 by myeye

Blogger blew up on me.  My Blog is on WordPress (thank goodness), but my Blogroll is on Blogger.  I tried to add a friend’s blog (LawyerChuck), and my entire blogroll disappeared.  You all may not know that I am a computer-Luddite.  My Blog and Chase’s website were built and are maintained by Carolyn Cannon.  She has no help at her job right now and is pretty overwhelmed.  I felt very guilty telling her that my Blogroll had disappeared and I could not keep track of my friends.  Somehow she found/made the time to figure out what I had done (I know I did something) to cause Blogger to freak out.

My Blogroll is back this afternoon — Oh, thank you, Carolyn.  To my Blogroll:  I don’t know where you’ve been, but I hope you had a great time.

  5. Uncle Pilot Best of Breed At Westminster

    February 13, 2012 by myeye

We are so happy for Carolyn Cannon, Mandy Katasse and Dixie Rae Sick because “Pilot” BISS GCH C-Myste Baledwr Free to Disagree was selected Best of Breed at Westminster this morning.  What a thrill!  Carolyn certainly deserves a win of this magnitude.  Now on to Herding Group this evening!

Libby was Best of Opposite Sex and Cain was Award of Merit.
