  1. The Heathens (and Family) At 14 Weeks

    September 15, 2013 by myeye

My yard is all mud — the better to play say Lily and Newman (and Grampa Chase and Aunt Riley).  Next Saturday Newmie will go to live with Linda, Melissa, and his very own little girl Jordan.  Lily will be flying to Nevada (via Salt Lake City) on October 4th to be with Jennifer and Mark Roundtree.  This will be the first time without puppies since late March.  The floors will be cleaner, I’ll probably get more sleep — but where’s the fun in that.  So, here are a bunch of photos from this morning’s romp in the yard.

  2. The Lesser Rio Grande River

    September 14, 2013 by myeye

It rained most of the night and is still raining this morning.  The baddogs have played outside and the kitchen is permeated with overwhelming scent of eau de doggue.  The real Rio Grande is expected to overflow this morning as a huge wall of water sweeps down from Colorado.

The Lesser Rio Grande is in my backyard — or maybe it is our private dirt road,  We have not had this type of ceaseless rain since 1977.  We still are not complaining!

  3. A Pupdate – Singing In The Rain

    September 13, 2013 by myeye

We have had more rain than we’re used to having.  The weeds are cheering loudly.  The dogs love it (probably because they’re not used to it).  Story (Kimber) is in Knoxville with Cheryl Kienast and photos/videos are springing up on her FaceBook page and on her blog.  Story’s registered name is “Elyan Storybook At Bluefox”.  Lily will be going to Elko Nevada on October 4th to live with Jennifer Roundtree.  Jennnifer and Mark own the puppies’ Grandma Leidy (Nola’s Mom).  Newmie — well that’s a little bump in the road.  He was going to live in California, but his “to be” owner discovered she has a zoning issue re: number of dogs.  Since her mother with be living with them, and has three dogs, with the two the family already has, Newmie would be too many.  I’m happy we discovered the problem now rather than after he made the trip.

Here are some morning photos of Lily, Newmie, Grampa Chase and Aunt Riley.

  4. Whoo Hoo — Snow Day

    February 21, 2013 by myeye

The weather dude, who is notoriously wrong 98% of the time, predicted snow last night.  When I went to bed at 10:30 we had no snow — just a little wind.  At 5:30 this morning the dogs thought it was time to get up.  I un-crated the girls and lifted Chase off the bed.  They flew out the dog door, activated the motion sensor light in back and WOW!  Undoubtedly the scene was pristine for 12 seconds or so.  However, the dogs were delighted and have rolled and wrestled since they got out.  We also really need the moisture.

So, all the schools and State Courts are delayed.  My road trip to Grants is canceled.  What shall I make of today?

  5. Sunrise – Christmas Eve

    December 24, 2012 by myeye

We have lovely sunrise here and I am fortunate to live near the foothills of the Manzano Mountains.  This is how Christmas Eve began in New Mexico.

    Have a wonderful day everyone.
