  1. And . . . It’s Champion Addie

    November 10, 2015 by myeye

This past weekend, our friend Kim Raleigh took Tuli and Addie to Colorado Springs for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shows.  Unfortunately, Tuli’s hot spots flared up again and she was not shown.  However, her aunt Addie (Chase/Dory) carried the flag.  Addie was Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex on Friday to earn her final Championship point.  On Saturday — her first time shown as a Special — she was Best of Opposite Sex to earn her first Grand Champion Point and a win over another champion.  On Sunday, Addie upped her game and was Best of Breed for a Grand Champion Major and another competition win.  She was pulled out for the final dogs in the Herding Group.  Addie is now CH ELYAN ADELAIDE ECO PT!  Addie is Copper’s and Andy’s littermate — what a group of classic over-achievers!  I love the Chase kids!

  2. Start 2016 With Puppies!

    October 23, 2015 by myeye

Our Copper (shared with Kevin and Tricia Dooley) has finally decided to come into season — YAY!  She will be bred to Cracker, a handsome black boy.  We expect baybeez the first week in January — if all goes according to plan.  There should be black tris, brindles and reds.  This is a stunningly healthy breeding.  Copper has the best hips we’ve ever bred.  She is tested clear of Degenerative Myelopathy, is EE (no clear red or pink), and no fluff.  Her CERF (now called CAER) is normal and her parents are tested clear for PRA.  Daddy-to-be is OFA Good, EE (no pink), PRA clear by line, DM clear.  He does carry fluff so some of the kids will carry for fluff.  Both parents have wonderful, bright temperaments.  Copper has her HT and her CD.  Cracker is a Group-winning Grand Champion.

    Here is the pedigree.

It has been a year since our last litter so we are excited about these upcoming babies.  Think good thoughts for Copper and the babies.  We’ll share more information as this plan progresses.

  3. Gearing Up For A Herding Trial

    July 12, 2015 by myeye

Today we went to Dr. Barb’s to further polish our herding dogs.  It is so green that it hurts my eyes!  Chase is working well.  He has reached the point at which he understands silence and the bubble and pressure.  His daughter Addie will be trying her paw at Pre-Trial Tested in Colorado next month.  I was very proud of her work — she loves herding.  Ellen has both of these dogs aiming to peak at the right time.  So, photos:

  4. Tuli Made It Through

    July 2, 2015 by myeye

Puppy kindergarten ended with Tuli being promoted to first grade (Beginning Novice).  Many thanks to Maggie Gee who gave our puppies lots to think about.  Pam Day and Lacey and Josh Carrillo with Rev were also in the class, but were not in this photo.

  5. Tuli’s First Show – Photo

Here is the show photo from Tuli’s debut on May 30th at Flatirons Kennel Club.  Thank you so much to our friend Kim Raleigh who hauled her up to Colorado and helped her earn her first points.

Tuli was the fourth of the Lowri/Kevin puppies to hit the show ring and like her brother and sisters before her, she earned points at her first show.  Tuli is a happy baby — I love having her with me.
